The Russian Civil War has always held a bit of a fascination for me and so I picked up this EVD bust from El Greco Miniatures. I also decided recently to give acrylics a go, though the face is still painted in oils. This was after reading Danilo Cartacci’s book. I am pleased to say that the results are not too bad and I will keep on with them. It is a challenge to change from one medium to another as acrylics require a completely different set of skills than oils. I always thought that acrylics were quick and that you saw instant results. I was wrong with this. However, the effects if given time and patience are worth it. The photos are larger than the piece itself, which is a 90mm bust. Here are the pics.
